Dr. Lucy Burns is a general practice and lifestyle medicine physician based in Australia, who helps women in midlife rebalance their mind and body through low carb, real food programs.

At her clinic, through her online business Real Life Medicine, and on her Real Health and Weight Loss Podcast, she helps women unlearn toxic diet culture and tap into science that promotes long-lasting health and permanent weight loss.

By mid-life, most women (and many men, too) have gone through numerous diet cycles and many have serious medical issues that can be affected by nutrition levels.

Dr. Lucy explains that the body works like a fire with a woodshed beside it. As long as the body is receiving good nutrition, it burns what it needs immediately and stores the remainder (the "logs"), to be drawn out when required. But different dietary habits result in an increase in storage and difficulty in extracting the "logs" when needed, resulting in the need to eat more, even though there is ample energy available in the body already.

By correcting the eating patterns, through proper education and practice, the situation can be ameliorated and some medical conditions can be reduced or eliminated. The main goal of Dr. Lucy's programs and teachings is to help people with stress management, mindset management and mind/body balance.

Dr. Lucy focuses on a low carbohydrate, real food lifestyle and advocates for learning how to read your body's signals.
